Principal Process Engineer

Job Location: Perth

Working on a wide scope of challenging design and construction projects, our team is supported by an engaged leadership group and experts in all stages of the project lifecycle to help inform better outcomes and greater ROI for our clients.

Responsibilities

As our Principal Process Engineer you will be part of our leadership group responsible for developing and managing a team of professionals involved in the design and construction of major projects both in Australia and overseas.

This role will suit a higher degree qualified engineer with significant (15 years+) minerals process plant design experience. It is expected the principal engineer will have knowledge of a range of processes and unit operations with significant plant operational or design experience. Able to prepare small proposals and contribute to larger proposals and also manage smaller studies and site projects. Extensive experience in developing and managing test-work programs, flow-sheet design and process engineering design deliverables will be key to success in this role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • High level communication skills – written and verbal
  • Strong computer literacy skills within a Microsoft office environment
  • Ability to produce study estimates
  • Ability to manage studies and small site projects, including invoice and variation management
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills for systems and follow up
  • Knowledge of databases and version control
  • Attention to detail, excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation and formal technical report writing
  • Extensive industry contacts and ability to win confidence of Clients through business development
  • Willingness to travel if required

Skills and Experience

  • Degree qualified Metallurgist or Chemical Engineer
  • 20+ years experience in the design, commissioning and operation of process plants across a broad range of commodities
  • Accustomed to a high level of client interaction Study management experience
  • Strong computer literacy skills within a Microsoft office environment
  • Extensive experience in developing proposals, test-work programs, flow-sheet design, CAPEX/OPEX estimation and schedules for new projects
  • Entrepreneurial in nature and look to actively contribute to initiatives for new business opportunities
  • Innate attention to detail, excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation and formal technical report writing skills
  • Willingness to travel to regional and remotes sites as and when required
