Planner/Scheduler

Job Location: Perth

Responsibilities
As a Planner/Scheduler you will play a key role in the development and monitoring of project schedules including the identification and verification of critical path activities.

This role will suit an individual with a minimum 5 years experience in Project Planning and Scheduling with high level communication skills, both written and verbal; and able to work with a high level of autonomy. Your ability to understand and document the sequence of works, logic links, durations and manning required for elements of design, fabrication and construction projects; and provide planning and cost control support for projects will be key to your success.
Key responsibilities include:

  • The development and monitoring of project schedules including identification and verification of critical path activities
  • Identification of trends and then forecast for Project Managers
  • Understanding and documenting the sequence of works, logic links, durations and manning required for elements of design, fabrication and construction projects
  • Provision of planning and cost control support for projects which includes variation reporting, monitoring of milestone progress to the preparation of customer billing processes, etc
  • Ensuring schedules are fully aligned with methodology/path of construction and estimate
  • Attending project meetings and discussions with the project team and clients
  • Coordination and working with the project management team to resolve project issues to ensure the delivery/completion of the project work
  • The application of various project progress methods to ensure the project schedule is on track to meet deadlines and deliverables In particular: summary reports using S curves
  • Adherence to all CPC Engineering and CPC Project Design policies, systems, procedures and quality management requirements

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary education with specialisation in Project Management and/or Scheduling related training
  • Min 5 years relevant and similar capacity in project scheduling
  • Technically strong in project cost planning, scheduling and reporting
  • Knowledge in the use of MS Project and Primavera P6
  • Plant operational, construction and refurbishment site based experience
  • Pre-commissioning and commissioning experience
  • Ability to work within multiple discipline teams to achieve budget and schedule based deliverables
  • Innate attention to detail, excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation and formal technical report writing skills
