Business Development Manager

Job Location: Perth

As a key member of the leadership team responsible for the growth of the business, you will develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income for CPC Engineering in line with the annual targets and overarching company strategy.

This role will suit an individual with an extensive client and contact network developed from their years of experience within the resource and infrastructure sectors. You will actively and successfully manage the full sales process from lead generation through to close, represent CPC through your interactions and develop trusted relationships with both existing and potential clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying opportunities and involving the appropriate CPC Business (either CPC Engineering, Operations or Project Design) to technically and commercially advance the opportunity towards a contract
  • Support the business plan delivery for each division
  • The preparation of appropriate documentation to assist in the execution of new business opportunities
  • Prepare Monthly Reports on the status of all business opportunities
  • Maintain comprehensive records of progress in business opportunities
  • Demonstrating a high level of ethical behaviour in all interactions with third parties on behalf of CPC Engineering

Skills and Experience

  • Engineering or process engineering background with minimum 10 years’ experience, Experienced in Business Development in WA resources and engineering sector
  • Able to actively and successfully manage the sales process: lead generation; credentials pitch; asking questions; solution pitch; negotiation; close; handover to the account management team
  • A wide range of contacts in the sector upon whom to contact
  • An understanding of engineering concept and opportunities
  • Setting goals and developing plans for business (revenue and profit) growth. Planning, and implementing target market initiatives. Researching prospective accounts in target markets. Pursuing leads and moving them through the suspect, prospect, opportunity, quotation and award cycle
  • Contribute to tender preparation and submission and including risk and opportunity in the bids
  • Well developed analytical and problem solving skills to deliver solutions for clients.
  • Willingness to travel to regional and remotes sites as and when required
